Translations Gone Horribly Wrong

Spanish-English and English-Spanish translations are not the only sources of glitches and public relations grief in the world of modern language communication.

And computer-generated translations are not the only culprits in the logic-defying, “What were they thinking?” goofs and miscues that aggravate our ability to understand other cultures.

Case in point: WGN TV in Chicago compiled a gallery of “Horrible Translations” that proves that communication comes from understanding, not from word substitution.
