<p>And computer-generated translations are not the only culprits in the logic-defying, &#8220;What were they thinking?&#8221; goofs and miscues that aggravate our ability to understand other cultures.</p>
<p>Case in point: WGN TV in Chicago compiled a gallery of &#8220;Horrible Translations&#8221; that proves that communication comes from understanding, not from word substitution.</p>
<p>Enjoy these examples of &#8220;Translations gone wrong.&#8221; Look for the faulty Spanish to English translations among these gems.</p>
